ASUS ROG Striker II Extreme Dominates Tom Hardware’s nForce® 790i Ultra SLI™ Motherboard Roundup to Snare Influential Publication’s Highest Honor

FREMONT, CA (Aug 5th, 2008) - On the 31st of July 2008, influential computer technology media outlet Tom’s Hardware published a roundup of every existing motherboard bearing the Nvidia 790i Ultra SLI chipset, and the ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) Striker II Extreme emerged as the lone product worthy of receiving the publication’s top honor: the “Best of Tom’s Hardware” award.

“One product stood out consistently by being the best overall performer, with the highest stable CPU clock speed, superior high-speed memory support, and the lowest VRM temperature. The ASUS ROG Striker II Extreme outpaced its peers in terms of game, application and video encoding performance, and boasted the highest average performance across all benchmarks. Mr. Soderstrom also noted the board’s exceptional strength in CPU and memory overclocking, two areas which saw the ASUS ROG Striker II Extreme outclassing the other 790i Ultra SLI motherboards in the roundup. In specific relation to memory overclocking, Mr. Soderstrom revealed that the ASUS ROG Striker II Extreme had in fact set a new in-house DDR3 memory overclocking record with the Crucial Ballistix PC3-1600 modules that were used in his test setup.

World Records Broken
